Top shelf defines the Tasmanian whisky, gin and wine. Our experience will give you the opportunity to sample some of Tasmania’s best. You will truly relax and take in the stunning scenery as you are flown to each destination to indulge in the tastes and tales of the whisky & gin industry in Tasmania.

Your Tasmanian distillery helicopter tour

We’ll depart from our heli-base at Cambridge. En route to your first destination on the Tasman Peninsula, we’ll fly you over the southern beaches of Greater Hobart, the awe-inspiring sea-cliffs of the Peninsula, pastural and bush landscapes before landing at McHenry Distillery.

Stop 1. McHenry Whisky Distillery by helicopter

McHenry’s whisky, gin and vodka are literally born from the ground below your feet. Water used as the base to create William McHenry’s spirits is sourced from a natural spring on his property. This spring water paired with the natural environment, local botanicals, and the McHenry’s family desire to produce the best spirits, results in drinks that are to be savoured and enjoyed.

Stop 2. Frogmore Creek Restaurant & Cellar Door

You’ve sampled Tasmanian spirits and now it’s time for us to take you to your lunch destination – Frogmore Creek Restaurant & Cellar Door in the Coal Valley Region. Here you will be served up dishes using local seasonal produce accompanied by their cool climate wine.

Tasmanian spirits are an excellent post-meal choice

Good things must come to an end, but your Tasmanian heli-tour with us does not have to end after you have enjoyed a relaxing lunch. We offer the option of adding another distillery to your day to try one more of Tasmania’s finest drops.

Whatever you choose to do, we can arrange a complimentary transfer back to your accommodation in Hobart.

Keen to try another Tasmanian distillery?

We have three distilleries you can choose from and each one delivers their own take on exceptional Tasmanian local.

Killara Distillery is a ‘Coal Valley local’ is one of the few distilleries world-wide to be owned and operated by a female – Kristy Booth-Lark. Kristy’s distillery produces premium quality, single malt whisky and each barrel of her ‘new make’ whisky spirit is batch produced in the locally made 600-litre copper pot still. All of Kristy’s products are made and bottled by hand using locally sourced ingredients whenever possible and she also has other spirits in her stable for tasting too.
